ASMS is a customized school management system for students and staff attendance using biometrics and SMS technology. It runs on a computer connected to a fingerprint reader and a webcam which are provided by Askan Ltd.
Upon installation of the system, registration the student or staff is carried out by authorized staff of Askan Ltd.
Student / Staff personal details such as full names, gender, class, stream, house, admission number, Passport photo (taken during the registration), parent/s or guardian/s contacts and fingerprint are entered in the system.
Registration details can also be imported as a PDF report.
Once the data is fed to the system, the system shall be connecting to the internet to distribute the information and send text-over-internet to the parent whenever each student scans his/her fingerprint.
Data collected is summarized into managerial reports which can be accessed to show trends and attendance reports.

This may help in organizing for the meals or activities within the school and also identifies those who leaves the school illegally.
ASMS stores parent’s contacts in the system for ease of access when verification is required.
This means accessing of this information will be fast and easy.
When the student arrives or is about to leave the school, scans his/her finger and the system instantly sends a SMS to the parent/s
indicating the time when student has entered or has left the school.
A copy of this arrival and departure information is left in the ASMS database for access and analysis by the school management.
Online back-up. (Saving data to the cloud) After the data entry, ASMS saves all the data that has been put into the system online.
This helps to recover your data in case the system collapses.
ASMS will automatically graduate and archive students.
The system shall graduate a student every year to the next level, and shall automatically archive those students who have either transferred from the school or those who have KCSE exam in the school.
